LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – Lakewood police have arrested a 38-year-old man in the murder of a woman in a 13-year-old cold case.
Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis says Adam Dixon was arrested in Concordia, Mo., for investigation of homicide in the murder of his former girlfriend, 19-year-old Sabrina Stevens.
Stevens’ body was found along a highway in 1998. An autopsy concluded she had been murdered.
Davis says Dixon was questioned several times by detectives after the discovery of her body. He says detectives went back through their files and the district attorney concluded there was enough evidence for an arrest.
Dixon is being held in a Missouri jail pending an extradition.
